Woodbridge Primary Suite
Printed glass panels and slab stone in a wet room detailed to a two-millimetre reveal.
The Brief
A 1970s primary bath with a drop-in tub, a fibreglass surround and a window that had been shut for a decade. The owners wanted a wet room — tub and shower on one drained floor — without losing the only natural light in the room.
The Design
We kept the window and made it the focus, moving the tub under it and setting the shower behind a single printed glass screen instead of a framed enclosure. Every stone joint was drawn before ordering so slab veining runs continuously from floor to wall to bench.
The Build
Wet rooms are a waterproofing problem first and a tiling problem second. The floor was re-framed to build fall into the structure rather than the mortar bed, a fully-adhered sheet membrane was installed and flood-tested, and only then did stone arrive on site.
The Finish
The shower screen is printed in house — a soft gradient that gives privacy at standing height and clears at the top so the window still reads across the whole room.
